Bataille d'Agueddin: How Prince Abdelkader (fifty thousand) overcame his men, Marrakech Army (two thousand)

Salam aleykoum I am Mohamed Doumir for another episode of Algerian history Glorious our subject today concerns a forgotten historical epic heroes Amir Abdelkader on one side the French and the Moroccan Sultan on the other because we will talk about the battle ofAgueddin or Amir Abdlkader is the winner with only 2000 soldiers of his supporters defeated the army of the Moroccan Sultan commanded by the crown prince in person accompanied by 50,000 soldiers

and before we begin we take a quick look at the Sultan of Morocco Abderrahmane ben Hicham on Wikipedia
and we find "that it took power at the beginning of the colonization of France in Algeria where Morocco supported the Algerian revolution commanded by Emir Abdelkader during this period"
and this is false and a smear of history. because Europeans quote in their historical notes
"a French settler fights Emir Abdelkader supported by a Moroccan army"
this before we get to today’s subject and this battle between Amir Abdelkader and his men against the Sultan of Morocco and his army
December 10, 1847, its exact date of 175 years and here is the story
first we discover the place of this battle which is not far from the western borders of the river Moulouya opposite its islands which belong to Spain until today and we will read together
the Emir does not even answer this letter and the Sultan decides to send a large army as we will see in order to massacre them
go and read the details of the battle when Emir Abdelkader took refuge in Morocco
under the pressure of the arms of the French colony the Sultan of Morocco has found a solution only to forbid the Moroccans to sell the provision to the Emir and here we open a parenthesis
in order to find that our Moroccan brothers were defenders of the Algerian cause and their support Emir Abdelkader, but their sultans always forced them to cut ties and incite the bums against delegation of finance and property of Emir Abdelkader or they stole and loot and Emir Abdelkader to resist him and his men from this situation for 6 months
and we read here that they were 1200 knights and 800 soldiers on foot and his knights were forced to educate his bums who practice theft and looting on property and the Emir was able to find the necessary provision from the villages and even recruit new soldiers and this has disturb the Sultan of Morocco, so he sent him for the first time his regular army under the command of his nephew and Emir Abdelkader wasted no time this night attacking them, but he advanced tonight by attackers at night and he defeated and took hostages many soldiers and took their money and by returning to his camp the Emir found that the thieves took his camels and so he and his men continued to chase the thieves or they catch up by killing a hundred and capturing the big heads and this victory of the Emir Abdelkader made a lot of echo in the whole region and many inhabitants joined it and even Algerian tribes refugees in Morocco like the tribe Beni-Amar and here the Sultan of Morocco is found out of him he did not find what to face force Emir Abdelkader except to send his soldiers to the Algerian refugee women and their children where they tore these tribes and took the women and their children as slaves and a certain French writer quotes concerning the Emir Abdelkader at that time; "the Emir Abdelkader was like a lion hunted down" to show his strength and charisma and also to explain that he was surrounded by the French colonial army on one side and on the other side of the arm
who refuse even a request for refuge from a neighboring Muslim leader who seeks to liberate his country by arriving in history on December 09, 1847 or we find the Emir Abdelkader and his men settled in the village of Agueddin and those who accompany him 5000 people and tomorrow therefore On December 10 news arrives that a very large army moves from the capital of Morocco under the command of two sons of the Sultan and settled down only three hours of march and this large army the Emir Abdelkader attacks the night 11 December 1847
by applying all his anger upon them by killing the first group and the flight of the survivors in all directions by leaving behind their baggage and weapons and the Emir continued by defeating the second group and the third group had time to Prepare and avoid being surprised but he is scattered as well and at night the Emir withdraw towards the Moulouya River and in the book "Life of Abdel Kader" of Colonel Churchill read the story so on December 09 the Emir Abdelkader and his followers was in Agueddin and there were 5000 souls, So they weren’t all fighters There were also women and children
and there was the Moroccan army heading towards them and on December 10 the information arrived to the Emir Abdelkader that the two sons of the Sultan is heading towards him this army exceeds 50,000 soldiers
the Emir had understood that they separated on three groups with a separation of half a mile and he knew that he did not have the direct ability to endure this battle and that he did not also have the ability to surprise them but at this moment met in him the feeling of the honor and vengeance of a knight and so he invented his bizarre technique and during the night two camels on their back of the cylindrical imperate
To water tar have been grown and closer to the camps of the Moroccan army, they lit fire on the camels' backs and pushed them into the Sultan’s camps and the camels threw themselves at the Moroccan soldiers and pursued by Emir Abdelkader under his personal command and he found the soldiers of the Sultan Morocco in full panic of this storm of fire or they have seen in the dark only the brilliance of swords under the light of that fire and its luminous glow as we say at home "they didn’t understand anything"
and fled leaving their weapons and tents and their luggage and the Emir went after to the second camp doing the same thing to them and in half an hour he arrived at the third camp and this is the last one where the Emir wanted to capture and the sons su Sultan but they escaped and the next day the Emir may see his enemy broken and disturbed but the next morning he was again sent an army of 5000 soldiers and defeated them again and he retreated in the evening towards the river of Moulouya and after this battle France can not stand The French who were in Tlemcen and Oran sent provisions to the Moroccan army on the other side so that the Sultan could regain his strength and continue to encircle the Emir Abdelkader and in the encyclopedia "The Great Events" written by leading historians
you will find this story with all the details because this encyclopedia has devoted a whole chapter on the life of Emir Abdelkader as the greatest historical man and the best history of this battle we find it in the description print and publish on December 29 1847
so the information is published to the public only 18 days after the battle and if you want to finish it will be read from an Arab source we find the book "Tohft Zair" the exloits of the Emir Abdelkader on lis
"When the conflict between Emir Abdelkader and the King of Morocco rages and having information that the Emir is in weakness and lack of soldier in his army he prepared his sons Mohamed the crown prince and Ahmed
accompanied with 50,000 soldiers and he directed him towards the Emir on December 10, 1847 and settled at the fort of Selouane, so 3 hours from the camps of Emir Abdelkader and the Emir found that it was better to attack them and take them by surprise before they attack him, the Emir has gathered his army to encourage them and inform them of what he has planned or they have shown their motivation and allegiance to the Emir until death, the latter speaks to them about his new technique and he brought two camels by tying of the cylindrical imperate and the Emir ordered that the fire be lit on the two piles just at the beginning of the attack the Emir started with his army towards Selouane and before arriving he organized his armed for the attack and ordered to put the camels before the army by lighting the fire, and the camels unleashed themselves in the enemy’s camps and the army in a single-man invasion
the enemy saw that fire and rain of bullets descends on them and had no choice but to flee, leaving all tents and important baggage and the Emir and his men continued the attack without giving importance to the spoils until they reached the tent of the princes the heirs son of the Sultan or they found the army of the Sultan surrounded; they took the shields as armor against the bullets and the fight continued from midnight until dawn when the Emir retreated his army by setting up his army not far from the enemy camps where he prayed to Sobh he returned to his camps after they massacred them and scattered them to a point where he remains with the heir and his brothers only protecting them in metal and death took the soul of the majority of Moroccan soldiers and after salate el Dohr l'Emir a small army composed of 200 men the majority of the inhabitants begged forgiveness therefore the Emir to sympathize with them and to dispatch them and separate them on several regions saw their member important and they remain defeated and separate and the Emir returned to his camp following the river of Mulouya until arriving on sea and the story remains long for those who want to read it . and it was a page of history that we must know and salam alykom
